In its present egg and vegetable-based form it is of Libyan, Egyptian, Tunisian, Algerian and Moroccan origin, and is now popular among many ethnic groups of the Middle East and North-Africa. EGGS – 4
Tomatoes – 8 t0 10
Onion – 1 medium cut into small cubes
Capsicum – 1 finely cut
Garlic crushed – 10
Paprika or red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Mixed herbs – 1 teaspoon
Salt – as per taste
Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
Black pepper powder – few pinches
Paprika – 1/4 teaspoon
Cheese grated – 1/4 teaspoon
1.Cut tomatoes into small pieces,grind them and strain in a strainer.
2.In a pan add some oil and saute onions,capsicu and crushed garlic.
3.Then add the strained tomatoes in it.
4.Then add paprika powder,mixed herbs,salt and cumin powder.
5.Cook this till the sauce is thick.
6.When sauce gets thick add eggs one by one by making small gaps in it.
7.Now cook under low flame till shakshuka sets.
8.Sprinkle black pepper powder,paprika and cheese and serve hot with bread or roti.
