Your Questions About Pasta Buffet Ideas

Richard asks…

Pasta at a baby shower, will it work buffet style?

Im throwing my first baby shower and the mommy to be wants pasta. She wants lasagna, chicken fettuccine alfredo, shrimp scampi, and maybe a cold pasta. Im thinking of serving this buffet style already prepared in chaffing dishes. Along side bread sticks and salad. I consider myself a good cook but never served pasta buffet style. Is this a good idea? Will the pasta hold up? What are your thoughts

Admin answers:

Yes, it is a perfect idea. It is easier to serve pasta buffet style than any other way. Chafing dishes will work perfectly. I would cut out the cold pasta though if you are serving salad and bread sticks. Good luck and have fun.

Buffet ideas for wedding?

I dont want a sit down dinner for my wedding so i wanted to do a buffet. I need some ideas…i already have pasta and salad but idk what else to serve. Some of the people coming are vegetarians so its kinda hard to decide what to serve…plz help?

ps. it’ll probably be around dinner time when i’ll get married

Admin answers:

I really like the idea of a taco bar. This way you would also have beans, tortillas, lettuce, etc. For your vegetarian guests.
Best wishes to you.

Chris asks…

has anyone ever had just a salad bar (and/or) pasta bar buffet at their wedding?

my fiance and i were working on planning our wedding and we were trying to come up with some money saving ideas. My fiance and i love salad, and thought it would be fun and unique to to have a fully filled salad bar and pasta bar instead of a traditional sit down meal. we want a traditional wedding with a unique reception that doesn’t cost a fortune.

any one who has done this please let me know.
if you have any other cost cutting ideas please let me know. thanks

oh we are planning our wedding for 2011 <3

thanks

Admin answers:

I’m a DJ and I have done several wedding where the reception consisted of a salad and pasta bar.

The friends and families of the bride and groom are all busy enjoying themselves mingling, etc.

You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do without incurring debt! And in this sucky economy, I think many people can understand that.

It works both ways, however. Don’t expect expensive gifts either.
