Chicken Dog Food Recipe

Chicken Dog Food Recipe

If you are looking for a sweet treat that will make your dog’s mouth water, try a chicken dog food recipe. Chicken is a very inexpensive way to treat your dog to the protein he needs. Making your own food and treats offers you control over what you feed your dog. You will no longer have to check label after label in the stored to be certain your dog is getting the best nutrition. You can now simply make your own foods and treats at home, which will save you a ton of money and health concerns in the long run.

Chicken Rice Doggie Chow

This is a chicken dog food recipe that will make you hungry. Cook a half cup of brown rice on the stove as you normally would and then allow to cool. While cooking the rice, use a sauté pan and add a cup of chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add one chicken breast to the boiling broth and reduce the heat and allow to simmer for ten minutes. Add the cooked rice and a forth cup of frozen peas and finish cooking the chicken through. Take the chicken breast out and cut it into chunks. Add the breast to your dog’s food dish and pour the warm rice and pea broth over it. Nothing says love for your dog like this homemade dish.

Garlic Chicken Chewies

This chicken dog food recipe will allow your dog to have a health snack that they will absolutely adore. You will need whole wheat flour, regular flour, cornmeal, olive oil, three eggs, fresh garlic cloves, and chicken giblets with juice. In your blender, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 eggs, ½ cup gizzard juice, 1 pound of chicken giblets, and 4-5 fresh garlic cloves. Blend well and till the mix is a bit chunky. Add the blended mixture to a bowl containing 1 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 cup of regular flour, and 1 cup of cornmeal. Bake on a greased or foiled cookie sheet at 450 degrees. Your cookies can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days or frozen to last longer.

The Chicken Fix

A chicken dog food recipe is just what the vet orders when you pup is ill. This one can also be used when your dog is well too. You will need three boneless chicken breasts, one cup cooked white rice, one cup cooked carrots, and one cup of cottage cheese. Boil the chicken and then cut into cubes. Add the chopped chicken to the carrots, rice, and cottage cheese. If you find it a bit too dry, you can add some chicken broth to thin it out a bit. Separate portions and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze. If you want to add some extra flavor to your pup’s meal you can also add a fourth cup of potatoes or cheese. This will not only help a doggie tummy feel better, but keep a healthy doggie happy.

Allrecipes fires up “Man Tested Recipes,” Dude Food contest

Beef, bacon, beer and butter figure heavily at ManTestedRecipes.com, a site launched today by Seattle’s Allrecipes.com.

Naturally the launch sponsor is Seattle-based Bacon Salt. I’m guessing Lipitor will be next.

Allrecipes Chief Executive Lisa Sharples said the new site is “the genuine voice of men and what they want in food.”

“Our research shows men genuinely enjoy cooking but have uniquely masculine interests and tastes; they deserve a dedicated and authentic community to connect with each other,” she said in the release.

The site is similar to Allrecipes’ user-generated format but with more social features for friendly men, such as tagging, friending and following. Users also get a “fridge” similar to a Facebook wall, on which people can post messages.

To get things going, there’s a “Dude Food” recipe contest through April 30, encouraging visitors to “boast about your roast” and compete for a $500 prize.

Allrecipes said the site was inspired by market research, including comScore findings that 36 percent of community food site visitors are male and Allrecipes findings that 70 percent of men “were more interested in visiting a men’s food site than a general food site,” the release said.

Other findings from its research, pulled from the release:

– Men enjoy preparing meals more than women (men 82 percent, women 75 percent).

– Men enjoy eating more than women (men 91 percent, women 88 percent).

– The majority of men prefer to eat food cooked by other men (53 percent).

– when asked their preferred dinner ingredient, steak is the top choice among men while pasta is the top choice of women.

– when asked to describe the perfect dish, the top two adjectives among men are “spicy” and “meaty,” whereas women select “healthy” and “savory.”

– The grill far outweighs the oven as men’s favorite way to cook (grill 46 percent, oven 17 percent), while it’s the opposite for women (grill 16 percent, oven 42 percent).

– Men are willing to spend more time preparing meals than women — 57 percent of men say “40 minutes to as long as it takes” is acceptable, while 52 percent of women prefer to limit cooking time to “0-40 minutes.”
