Some of the most important decisions that we make are in regards to the food that we eat. There are so many things that can cause ill health these days that it is getting frustrating for many to find recipes for healthy food. There are a lot of options that are available if a person looks around.
The internet is a great resource for finding almost anything that you could want in healthy food. There are the good old favourites that have been made for years and years, to the new things that have just been created by people from around the world. No matter what it may be there is bound to be something out there that will appeal to everyone.
The classic shepherd’s pie is one I found that is delicious. It is quite similar to the original version except it uses extra lean beef. This reduces the amount of fat intake that people will take in without taking a way from the taste of the meal. I have played around with it a lot and have found that mixing the beef with onion soup mix gives it an amazing bit of a kick. Try this one on your family, they will be sure to love it as well.
Another way that you can modify a recipe and keep the fat content to a minimum is to incorporate non fat yogurt into it as opposed to sour cream. Many people do not realize just how fatty sour cream really is. It would scare you to know. The yogurt does not give any odd taste to the food in any way but keeps the fat levels down which is something of huge importance during the times that we are having with high cholesterol and heart disease.
These are just a couple of ideas that I have used myself and have found to work wonderfully. There are many others that are out there if you take some time to browse the internet. It is loaded with recipes for healthy food, as well as with other things that you can do to modify the everyday foods that you eat but make them more healthy for you and your family.
Some of them even let you put in the ingredients that you have handy and will spit out a selection of recipes that you can make using things that you already have in your kitchen. This is a great way to find some new recipes that could prove to be some of the family’s favourites. Being a bit creative in the kitchen can prove to be a lot of fun. Healthy food no longer has to be dull and boring anymore. Look around and you will soon see what I mean!

Welcome again. This time I would continue the topic of healthy recipes and food. In my previous articles I was writing about many different topics connected with cooking, eating or even storing food. This topic will be very important for people who prefer healthy lifestyle and healthy eating. I would like to provide you information about functional food. Read this article to the end and you will know what is it.
So let’s start. I would like to give you some kind of definition of a functional food. It’s a kind of food that of course have to feed people, but apart from that it have to influence human organism (for example it can reduce cholesterol level in blood, strengthen hardiness of human body, it can remove problems connected with digestive tract and it can heal people or help with healing). Func. food can be an element of everyday diet (there are many healthy recipes that include func. food). So any tablets or any other pharmaceutical products are not included in group of func. food. It should be a product made from natural ingredients that can make people more healthy.
The functional food ingredients are products with high level of such ingredients as: fatty acid, food cellulose, vitamins, probiotics, prebiotics and products with low level of such ingredients as: cholesterol or calories.
Functional food and healthy recipes connected with it are very popular in west Europe and in United States of America, but the lider in production of such food is Japan. In this country healthy recipes and functional food are the most popular (people in Japan were working on it about 30 years ago).
That’s all I wanted to write about healthy recipes and healthy functional food. I hope that this kind of food will be very popular in Poland and other countries in which they aren’t important. I believe that this kind of food will improve health of people in the whole world.

Lemons
Why They’re Healthy:
– just one lemon has more than 100 percent of your daily intake of vitamin C, which may help increase “good” HDL cholesterol levels and strengthen bones.
– Citrus flavonoids found in lemons may help inhibit the growth of cancer cells and act as an anti-inflammatory.
Quick Tip:
Add a slice of lemon to your green tea. one study found that citrus increases your body’s ability to absorb the antioxidants in the tea by about 80 percent.

Nuts offer us lots of health benefits. A diet that includes nuts, seeds and legumes is a healthy way to ward off certain diseases and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nuts such as pistachios contain cholesterol fighting vitamins as well as the necessary fiber required in our diets. Adding nuts to our recipes is a great way to incorporate nuts into our daily diets.
As an appetizer, pistachio stuffed mushrooms, is not only delicious, but heart healthy. by using a food processor to chop the nuts, you can adjust the chopping speed and blades to get the consistency you desire for your stuffing. for a more, crunchy, nutty stuffing, use a lower setting, set to less time. you can add these nuts to your favorite mushroom stuffing or come up with a new stuffing with ingredients that include breadcrumbs and seasoning, including chopped up mushroom stems. Stuffed mushrooms are not just for holidays, they make a great side dish for every day meals.
For a main course, pistachio pesto pasta or chicken with pistachio orange sauce, are popular and great ways to add nuts to your dinner. Almonds, walnuts and other nuts offer great choices as well and are very popular, but the pistachio has recently hit the scene as being used in more than just ice cream. using these nuts instead of pine nuts in the pesto sauce adds, not only variety to the recipe, but greater nutrients for the body.
Nuts are high in fiber, which is essential to a healthy digestive tract and a healthy body. Any time you can incorporate nuts into a recipe it adds some diversity to the meal as well as the necessary nutrients that we sometimes tend to miss. We often mistakenly forgo nuts because of the fat content, but nuts are high in monounsaturated fats versus saturated fats. not only is this type of fat not harmful to you, it is actually good and necessary for healthy body function. it increases the HDL levels in our cholesterol, which is the good cholesterol. Adding monounsaturated fats to your diet is a great way to ensure heart and muscle health. not all fats are bad and this is just one way to use fat to stay healthy. Pistachio nuts are emerging as a new superfood, packed with vitamins that aid our bodies in fighting disease. and let’s not forget how delicious they are!

Vegetarianism is the act of eliminating meat from the diet. this includes chicken, fish, beef, pork, or any other form of meat. some people choose this diet out of respect for animals, while others enjoy these eating habits for their health benefits. Below are some of the main benefits of eating healthy vegetarian food recipes.
Benefit 1: you will have lower levels of cholesterol, which is commonly caused by eating a lot of red meats.
Benefit 2: Vegetarianism helps to decrease the amount of toxins in the body. Fresh fruits and vegetables do not introduce nearly as many toxins as meat.
Benefit 3: you will have lower blood pressure, which is wonderful especially if you currently have high blood pressure.
Benefit 4: you will have a lower risk of heart attack or stroke.
Benefit 5: The food is delicious and will give you the energy your body needs.
Benefit 6: Vegetarian recipes are very nutritious! you will be eating a variety of vegetables, which are rich in nutrients and vitamins that your body needs to stay healthy.
As you can see, eating a vegetarian diet does not come without its own list of great benefits. One of my favorite vegetarian food recipes is a simple salad with cheese cubes. It’s incredibly delicious, and you can put almost anything in a salad. Finish it off with your favorite salad dressing and you have yourself a great meal or snack, depending on the size of your bowl!
Vegetarian food recipes are incredibly healthy for you and can be a lot of fun too. if you have any favorite meat recipes, you can alter them to become vegetarian by substituting meat for something else. get creative with your diet and have fun with your cooking. Your body will thank you, and so will your family.
